BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal is reshuffling his
cabinet staff in the wake of his top budget adviser's resignation.
The governor's office announced Friday that Social Services
Secretary Kristy Nichols will become Jindal's deputy chief of
Nichols will be taking the job currently held by Paul Rainwater,
who is becoming commissioner of administration - the governor's
chief financial adviser.
Ruth Johnson, undersecretary of the Department of Social
Services, will become DSS secretary to replace Nichols.
They move into their new roles on Aug. 9, after Angele Davis
leaves her position as commissioner of administration. Davis'
resignation was announced Thursday.
Also Friday, Jindal named Sherri LeBas to be secretary of the
Department of Transportation and Development. She had been acting
as interim secretary since February.
