BATON ROUGE | Gov. Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Scott Angelle to the Southern States Energy Board.
Angelle, of Breaux Bridge, currently represents District 2 on the state's Public Service Commission. He formerly served as secretary of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources.
He also served as Lieutenant Governor in an interim capacity from May to November 2010.
Angelle will be appointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee on the SSEB. By statute, the board's Louisiana delegation is comprised of three members appointed individually by governor, the president of the Senate, and the speaker of the House of Representatives.
The SSEB serves to increase economic development and the quality of life in the South through improvements in energy and environmental policies, programs and technologies. Membership includes 16 southern states and two territories.
