The Jindal administration now says it had no intention of shutting down the Louisiana Department of Education website and the problem now has been fixed.
"We are grateful the bill has been paid," LDOE's Barry Landry said in a statement.
Earlier this morning, The Advocate's Will Sentell reported that the state Department of Education website was shut down because Gov. Bobby Jindal's administration will not pay the bill.
State Education Superintendent John White had accused the governor's administration of not making the website payment, according to Sentell's Twitter account.
LDOE's website, louisianabelieves.com, until moments ago was not functioning properly.
"The delay in renewing DOE's website was unintentional and has been resolved," said Meghan Parrish, Communications Director with the Division of Administration.
