Jennings man accused of burglary

A Jennings man was arrested for allegedly stealing items and leaving them in his truck where they were later discovered by deputies.

Saturday night Jefferson Davis deputies responded to a theft that occurred on Empire Road in Jennings. Authorities say items were stolen and there was damage to the property. Deputies made an offense report and an itemized list of the property taken.

Later that evening the items were located in a truck bed that was parked in a parking lot in Jennings.

Deputies recovered the stolen items and arrested Stephen Guidry, 27, of Jennings.

Guidry was booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail on charges of simple burglary, theft, criminal damage to property and trespassing.

The items recovered were identified and returned to the victim.
