JENNINGS, La. (AP) - The current ban on open and outdoor burning will remain in effect in Jefferson Davis Parish.
Police Jury President Donald Woods said Wednesday state
officials earlier this week announced the statewide burn ban would end Thursday, but Jefferson Davis Parish will extend its ban for another week.
The American Press reports Juror Byron Buller asked for the ban to continue because the conditions are still dry in the Pine Island area, which has not received as much rain as other areas of the parish.
