JEANERETTE, La. (AP) - The city of Jeanerette is getting a
federal loan for nearly $2.5 million to improve its water system.
It's among nearly $117 million in stimulus grants and loans for
water and environmental projects announced Tuesday by U.S.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
They are part of the USDA Rural Development's Water and
Environmental Program. It provides loans and grants to ensure
necessary investments to provide safe drinking water and protect
the environment in rural areas.
