The neighborhood came out to remember Alvin Davis Friday night. Last week, he was shot by St. Martin Parish Sheriff Deputies after they say Davis backed his car into one of them. The family says what they were told doesn't add up.
"They were saying he bumped a pole in the back. You go to the crime scene, The pole is down in the front. That's what we don't understand. We just want the whole story on what happened," Davis' sister Allisha August said.
The family believes excessive force was used in stopping Davis's car. They say they are having trouble getting a clear answer of the events of that evening, but the case is still under investigation. The vigil was a walk to remember Davis, but also a walk in the name of justice which hopefully leads to answers.
Davis was 32 years old and leaves behind an eleven year old son.
