NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The second - and final - weekend of this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival opens with a day traditionally set aside for local talent.
Louisiana music fans can get listen and dance to mostly Louisiana-based performers, including Lucinda Williams, Amanda Shaw, Delfeayo Marsalis, Charmaine Neville and The Iguanas. Sprinkled in Thursday's mix are nationally known acts like Wilco and Cyndi Lauper.
In addition, fest-goers can get their fill of Louisiana mainstays like jambalaya, gumbo, cochon de lait or soft-shell crab
po-boys, boudin balls and crawfish remoulade.
The festival, presented by Shell, runs through Sunday at the
Fair Grounds Race Course.
