TOKYO (AP) - Japan says its exports in May rose 32.1 percent
from a year earlier.
The finance ministry said Thursday that Japanese exports climbed
to 5.3 trillion yen ($59 billion), marking the sixth month of
year-on-year increase. Exports alone account for about 10 percent
of Japan's economy, the world's second largest.
Imports in May grew 33.4 percent to 5.0 trillion yen, resulting
in a trade surplus of 324 billion yen.
