Jail Gets Therapist for Children of Inmates

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office has hired a licensed professional counselor to give free counseling to children of people incarcerated in the St. Landry Parish Jail. James Berk Veillon was introduced today by Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Veillon has over 40 years of experience ranging from mental health, child therapy, and family psychotherapy. For the next three years, Veillon will work offer therapy sessions to children of inmates of the St. Landry Parish Jail to help them cope with having a parent in jail. Veillon's position is funded by a state grant.
