Super bowl Sunday is a big day for businesses selling pizza and wings. Those throwing super bowl parties say they want "no mess" and "no stress" during the big game. There's enough anxiety with Saints playing in their first Super bowl. The stress of having to cater to people and serve food would be too much to handle.
Managers at Dean O's pizza say 90-percent of their take out orders have been pizzas. They say Super bowl week has been their busiest of the year. "A lot of people have been getting take out to try to get ready for their super bowl parties, we've been so busy with our to go orders its insane, its ridiculous," said Dean O's waitress Lesli Cuchens.
Sunday's boom in business was also felt by places like Wing Stop, Canes and Hooters. "Last time I cooked, I missed part of the game so this time we're going to pick up fried chicken, so we can watch every second of it," said Lafayette Resident Mindy Wallace. Like Wallace, others are picking the route of the quick and easy. Hooters manager Erica Freemin says the take orders just keep coming. "We've been taking to go orders for about two weeks now, ahead of time. We still have to go orders coming in Today. We have extra girls in the back who are doing just to go orders because we have so much coming in." So whether it's pizza or wings, guaranteed all are on the big screen during the game.
