BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - A group developing a sixth riverboat casino-hotel in the Shreveport-Bossier City market has closed a deal to get one of the two boats owned by Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. in Lake Charles.
St. Louis-based Isle of Capri said late Thursday that it sold the boat to Bossier City Casino Venture LLC for $15 million. Isle of Capri continues to operate another riverboat in Lake Charles.
The buyer's plans call for a $195 million complex - to be known as Margaritaville - just north of Louisiana Boardwalk along the Red River in Bossier City. It will feature a 400-room hotel, theater, pool area and a Margaritaville restaurant.
Completion is scheduled for May 2013. Plans calls for the casino to employ 1,200 people.
