A Krotz Springs Dispatcher has been arrested after police say she let out two inmates and then joined them in stealing narcotics from the evidence room.

St. Landry Sheriff's Office says that June 9th, Chief Norman Mouille of the Krotz Springs Police Department contacted the sheriff's office in reference to a burglary of the Krotz Springs Police Department's Evidence Room.

Investigators say evidence was obtained indicating on June 5th, just after midnight, a Krotz Springs Police Department Dispatcher, Amanda N. Nall, 23, released two inmates, identified as Jessica L. Courville, 22 and Michael D. Stermer, 27, from their cells inside the Krotz Springs Police Department.

Police say Nall then shut off the lights in the vicinity of the evidence room in an attempt to hide activity from the security cameras. Police say Stermer pried open the door to the Krotz Springs Police Department's Evidence Room. After the door was opened, Courville and Stermer entered the room and removed an undetermined amount of illegal narcotics and the narcotics were divided between the participants and the room was re-secured, according to officers.

Police say Jessica L. Courville and Michael D. Stermer were both arrested and charged with Simple Burglary. Amanda N. Nall was arrested and charged with Malfeasance in Office as well as Simple Burglary, according to officers. This investigation remains open and an additional arrest is expected.
