WASHINGTON, La. (AP) - There is still no word on the cause of a fire that destroyed the 155-year-old Immaculate Conception Catholic Church earlier this month.

However, The Rev. Albert Nunez told The Daily World on Tuesday that the church is forging ahead with rebuilding, with its building committee scheduled to meet with an architect Thursday night.

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church was founded in 1756. The church building, built in 1856, was destroyed in less than a hour.
