HAMSHIRE, Texas (AP) - Interstate 10 in southeast Texas has
reopened after crews finished cleaning up a hazardous material
spill from a tanker involved in a wreck four days ago.
Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis told The
Associated Press that I-10 near Hamshire reopened Wednesday
morning.
I-10 had been shut down between Texas 73 and Farm Road 365 near
Hamshire, about 65 miles east of Houston, since a two-vehicle wreck
early Sunday. The tanker truck overturned in a collision with a
pickup.
DPS says the tanker truck driver suffered non-life threatening
injuries.
The tanker was carrying isobutane, a flammable, corrosive
chemical.
