Inmate hit by SUV in critical condition

ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - The Louisiana Department of Corrections inmate worker struck by a vehicle Friday in Alexandria remains in critical condition.
Police on Monday released the inmate's name, along with the names of the driver of the Jeep which struck the inmate and the driver of a city of Alexandria sanitation truck who also was injured in the accident.
The Town Talk reports Sylvester Miller of New Orleans suffered critical injuries to his legs and head when he was hit while working on a road crew on La. Highway 28 West.
The driver of the Jeep, Kelly Tuttle of Pineville, suffered minor injuries.
Police say Tuttle's vehicle veered off the side of the road and struck Miller, the inmate work crew van and a sanitation truck driven by Robert Fuller of Deville.
