Indian Bayou residents should be watchful of suspicious vehicles or people after three homes were broken into on Monday, July 23. "The burglaries occurred during the daytime hours while residents were away from their homes, and items such as weapons, a laptop computer, numerous video games , jewelry, and TV's were stolen," said Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon.

Investigators are working on possible leads and the sheriff said a vehicle seen in the area the day of the burglaries is described as dark colored, possibly a black single cab pickup truck hauling a small utility trailer carrying a riding lawnmower.

If anyone sees suspicious vehicles and or persons in the area, they are urged to contact the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office at 898-4402 or Criminal Investigations Division at 898-4403
