RUSTON, La. (AP) - Ruston remains fiscally sound during tough economic times. That's according to its most recent audit.
The Ruston City Council received its annual audit report Tuesday from the city's independent auditor, Douglas Brewer of Ruston.
The News-Star reports the audit of city finances only revealed one finding, but city Treasurer Emmett Gibbs said that was simply an oversight of how the city's budget must be presented. The new state law was passed last year three months after Ruston's budget was already adopted.
Ruston's fiscal year runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
Total revenue during the 2011 fiscal year was $51.7 million while total expense was $48.7 million.
