City Councilman A. J. Bernard (Youngsville's Emergency Coordinator) met with Mayor Wilson Viator and Youngsville city staff this morning to review the status and predictions surrounding Tropical Storm Bonnie. All indications are that this storm might turn out to be a significant rain event for the City of Youngsville. Just to be on the safe side, the sand bagging sites are being activated and equipped for those Youngsville citizens who may want to reinforce their property. Sand and bags will be available at the following sites:
On Iberia Street at the Horse Barn just across from Fountain View Drive (Unmanned),
Behind the Youngsville Police Station on 4th Street (Unmanned),
At Public Works Building - 315 Railroad (Unmanned), and
At the City Sewer Plant - 600 Railroad. (This site will have pre-filled bags for handicapped and elderly only. It will be manned between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Saturday July 24, 2010).
If there are any questions or if anyone needs additional information, they may call City Hall at 337-856-4181 before 4:00 PM on Friday, or over the week end they may call 337-412-9025.
