Illegal Immigrant Arrested After Crashing Into Parked Cars

A illegal immigrant is being detained at the Vermilion Parish jail following a crash that sent a vehicle into an Abbeville hair salon.
18 year old Alejandro Salazar is being charged with one felony count of operating a motor vehicle while illegally in the U.S.
Salazar lost control of a Mustang GT Tuesday morning during a rainshower. Abbeville Police say the man was trying to change gears, when he lost control and hit two parked cars. One vehicle hit another sending that vehicle into Kim & Co. Salon and a gas meter on Charity Street.
The Abbeville Police Department has put a detainer on Salazar and INS has been notified.
