Identify of Fire Victim Released

A Ville Platte man is dead following a fire at his home. Firefighters responded to 111 West Hickory Street just after 2:00 Tuesday morning. The body of 51-year old Irving Antoine was found in the bedroom. Another person was in the house at the time but escaped without injury. Officials found there were no working smoke alarms in the house. The State Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating the blaze.
