Iberia teen killed in Labor Day shooting

NEW IBERIA, La. (AP) - Iberia Parish sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting at an area campground that left a New Iberia teen dead.
Sheriff's office spokesman Capt. Ryan Turner tells The Advertiser the shooting took place around 9 p.m. Monday at the KOC Kampground in New Iberia.
Turner says the victim, 18-year-old Mandi Viator, was accidentally shot.
He says Viator was taken to an area hospital after allegedly being accidently shot by her fiance, and she died from her wounds a short time later.
Turner said no arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
