Iberia Burglary Totals Nearly $50,000

NEW IBERIA, La. (AP) - Two stolen potted palm trees and an all-terrain vehicle are among stolen items recovered by Iberia Parish sheriff's deputies after a four-month rash of burglaries across the parish.
Lt. Ryan Turner, spokesman for the sheriff, says
that investigators have arrested four people, one of them a
juvenile and the others 17, 18 and 20 years old. He says all four are cooperating with detectives.
Turner says deputies have brought in nearly $50,000 worth of stolen goods including TVs, lawn equipment, fishing gear, tools and a ring taken from a 91-year-old woman.
He says most of the burglaries occurred during the day.
Turner says many of the recovered items were found on the property of someone who has not been linked to the burglaries but is being questioned.
