The Acadiana Outreach Center's annual Hunters for the Hungry Food Drive will be held on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th from 10am - 3pm. Local sportsman and their families are encouraged to clean out their freezers and donate any frozen processed game and fish from the 2009 hunting season. Collection sites will be set up throughout Lafayette and surrounding communities. For more details and a complete list of the collection sites visit www.acadianaoutreach.org.
All donations are tax deductible and will be used in feeding our residents in the Lighthouse Shelter for Women and Children and at the Three Graces Treatment Center in Abbeville along with other community agencies. This year's Hunters for Hungry Chairman Bob Giles said, "This is such a worthy cause, meat is the most difficult food item to provide to the needy as it is expensive and hard to preserve."
We are in need of volunteers for the day of the event to help greet donors, unload donations, etc. If you or your group is interested in volunteering for the event, please contact Jill Meaux at 337.237.7618 x 203 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
