Despite a chilly weekend, the weather did not get in the way of Mardi Gras parades this weekend.
A few hundred lined the streets in Scott for the city's annual parade one big party especially for those who live along the parade.
"It is a very big tailgate party. You have to get out here early so you can get a spot for your car and the people that come with you."
Andy Landry arrived hours before the parade and manned the grill, cooking is his favorite part of the day.
"Feeding the people and seeing them have a good time while they eat the cajun food, jambalya, hamburgers, hot dogs, and just having a good time," said Landry.
Although the temperatures have been cool all weekend, residents in Scott say they love being out here because of the family atmosphere.
"The entertainment, the food, everything is just awesome around here." Leslie Magyar has lived along the parade route for years and says her front yard is the best seat in the house.
"Don't have to go far at all. Everyone is so friendly," said Magyar.
"The crowd is fun. They are very fun we've got more people than you can handle."
A good time and by the way, plenty of beads to go around as well.
