Vandebilt Catholic High School's baseball lineup is loaded with Bergerons. Sometimes the bases are, too.
Starters generally include senior right fielder and pitcher Josh Bergeron, his brother, junior shortstop Jordan Bergeron, and two unrelated players - senior pitcher and third baseman Matt Bergeron and junior pitcher and third baseman Grant Bergeron.
Coach Corey Sullivan tells The Courier that they're big assets at the mound and at the plate.
The Terriers are 22-6. They've already clinched the District 8-4A title and a spot in the Class 4A playoffs.
Sullivan says having four players with the same last name can lead to some unique situations. At the Central Catholic-Morgan City Tournament earlier this season, the Terriers had the bases loaded with Bergerons and another at the plate.
