A house on the 400 block of Worth Avenue was engulfed in flames last night.
Firefighters rushed to the scene just after 9 p.m., after receiving reports of a burning smell in the attic. Upon entering the home, firefigthers discovered the entire attic was in flames.
It took one hour to control the fire and two hours to completely extinguish the 5500 square feet house.
The home was owned by professional tennis player Chanda Rubin. She was home at the time of the fire, but escaped with no injuries.
Firefighters managed to stop the fire, but the house did suffer substantial damage.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire, although officials believe a lightning strike could have hit the house.
