"Hot" Abbeville Flatscreens For Sale

If you get a new flat screen in TV in Abbeville, hide the box!
Crooks there are targeting those with fancy new electronics.
Police say there has been a rash of break-ins on the north and southside of Charity Street.
The suspect is going after tv's ranging from $1200 to $2000.
In fact, fifty televisions have been stolen from Abbeville homes in the last year.

Police say you should write down your serial numbers and keep it in a safe place with your sales receipt.  Another suggestion is to scratch your initials somewhere on the TV so pawn shops won't buy it.  Finally, don't throw away the cardboard box it came in at your house.  It's like an invitation for crooks to come over.

In addition, if you've been approached by someone looking to sell a cheap TV, you're asked to call the Abbeville Police Department.
