Hospice of Acadiana searches for volunteers

Make a Difference --Volunteer at Hospice of Acadiana, Inc.

Come and join Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. - Acadiana's only non-profit Hospice care provider - as a volunteer today! Hospice of Acadiana volunteers play a vital role in providing care and support to our patients and their families in a multitude of ways.

Many volunteers visit the patients at home or in hospitals and nursing homes as patient care or pastoral care volunteers. A considerable number also help with the bereavement program, assist with clerical duties in the office, take part in our speaker's bureau, or support fundraising events. Still, others lend their talents as barbers or hairdressers to cut hair, carpenters to build wheelchair ramps, and seamstresses to sew patient gowns.

Come and participate as a volunteer in whichever opportunity is right for you based on your talents, skills, and the time you have available. Whatever your role, it will be instrumental in helping Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. meet the many needs of our patients and their families.

Volunteer training will be held on June 20, 2011 at 8:45 a.m. in the Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. Conference Center. Pre-registration is mandatory. For more information or to register, please contact Volunteer Placement Coordinator Ann Wallace at (337) 232-1234 ext. 3732.
