Hornets Sign F-C Michael Washington

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The New Orleans Hornets have signed free agent rookie Michael Washington to bring their roster to 18 on the eve of training camp. The 6-foot-9, 235-pound Washington plays forward and center. The former Arkansas standout was not taken in the NBA draft this summer. During his senior season for the Razorbacks, Washington averaged 12.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 25.3 minutes over 29 games, with 27 starts. The Hornets announced the acquisition of Washington on Monday. Training camp opens on Tuesday.
