The New Orleans Hornets have arranged for guard Eric Gordon to work out in Los Angeles with specialists as he rehabilitates his sore right knee.
The Hornets, who announced the move on Wednesday evening, say last week's projection that Gordon would miss the first four to six weeks of the regular season remains the same.
Gordon, who averaged a team-high 20.6 points last season but played in only nine games because of an injury that required arthroscopic surgery last February, also has missed the 2012 preseason.
Team officials say the move will provide the 23-year-old Gordon with "a more personalized and intensive rehab regimen ... and allow him to work with specialists and provide a more focused attention on rehabbing his injured right knee."
