Honeywell monitoring acid leak

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Honeywell chemical plant officials are investigating the cause of a leak at their Baton Rouge facility.
Company spokesman Peter Dalpe tells The Advocate hydrofluoric acid began leaking at 10:30 a.m. Monday, but the chemical was contained quickly and did not spread outside the facility's grounds.
Dalpe says the plant's monitoring systems set up around the campus borders did not detect any leaked chemicals.
He says no one was injured.
Dalpe says hydrofluoric acid is a hazardous material used to make octane for gasoline and refrigerants for air conditioning.
