LIVINGSTON, La. (AP) - A state judge has sentenced a Holden couple to prison terms following their convictions on cruelty charges such as forcing a child to sleep while shackled to a desk.
Livingston Parish prosecutor Charlotte Herbert tells The Advocate 35-year-old Donald E. Miller III and 34-year-old Lisa Stogner Faber pleaded guilty Tuesday to 13 counts of cruelty to a juvenile.
Judge Zoey Waguespack sentenced Miller to 10 years for each of 12 counts, to be served concurrently, and five years for the remaining count, to be served consecutively, for a total of 15 years.
Faber was sentenced to seven years on each count, each to be served concurrently.
Authorities say the victim now lives with her grandparents out of state.
