Historical Marker Stolen in St. Martin

From Guy Cormier: Late last week it was discovered that the Historical Marker for Oak and Pine Alley, located just north of St. Martinville, was missing. The sign(shown in the attached picture) was placed at the entrance of Oak and Pine Alley in the 1940's and is an important part of the history of St. Martin Parish. The sign was stolen in the 1990's but was discovered and placed back in its original location. St. Martin Parish President Guy Cormier says that if anyone has information regarding the apparent theft of this sign to please call the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's office at (337)394-3071. A $500 reward is being offered.
