BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is alerting hunters that flooding conditions along the Ouachita and Boeuf rivers will reduce the available hunting area within the Boeuf Wildlife Management Area in Caldwell Parish.

After reviewing river forecasts and topographical data, officials estimated that about half of the wildlife management area will be flooded during the either sex deer hunt scheduled on Nov. 27 and 28.

State wildlife officials say hunters looking for opportunities to take part in that type of hunting on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving are encouraged to visit other wildlife management areas, including nearby Big Lake, Buckhorn, Ouachita, Russell Sage and Sicily Island Hills.
