We are now in the dog days of summer and boy does it feel like it. Temperatures have been in the mid to upper 90s the last few days, and Saturday promises to bring in some more of the same. The good news is a weak cold front is on the way.
Since it is June its impact will small, but it will start to cool us down a little bit (mostly overnight). Lows will be given a chance to drop down in the low 70s, even upper 60s starting Saturday night.
As the front passes early Saturday it will bring in a round of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Expect the wet weather to arrive just before sunrise on Saturday and clearing up by mid morning.
After the brief round of wet weather the skies will clear out and temperatures will be on the rise. The combination of heat and moisture can lead to a few isolated storms Saturday afternoon as well. One or two of the storms have the potential to produce heavy downpours and strong winds.
The rest of the weekend, however, is looking clear for the most part with drier, slightly cooler conditions on Sunday. Look for better rain chances to return by the middle of next week (just in time for the 4th).
