Tropical Storm Hermine continues to pound much of Texas this afternoon with torrential downpours. The center of the storm as of 400pm Tuesday afternoon was between San Antonio and Austin. Maximum sustained winds are near 40mph. Torrential tropical downpours extend from the Texas Hill Country eastward into Eastern Texas, including the major metro areas of San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Dallas.

Fortunately the storm is moving northerly at a brisk pace near 18mph, but this system will likely produce additional widespread 4-6" of rain with isolated spots near 10" possible where storms "train" over the same localized areas.

Hermine should be downgraded to a depression this evening but will threaten portions of North Texas and Oklahoma with flooding rainfall through Wednesday.
