We are now a week into August and it certainly feels like it outside, as temperatures are trying to climb into the mid 90s.
As always to go along with these temperatures the famous Louisiana humidity is certainly making its presence felt here in Acadiana.
Heat indices for the next several days will be up into the triple digits in the afternoon, and little relief will be offered from clouds or rain.
Make sure that if you are outside that you do drink plenty of water, and if at all possible just avoid and extraneous activity during the hottest parts of the afternoon.
Rainfall the next several days will remain very isolated and will be driven by daytime heating, but with no definitive weather pattern any rain will definitely be popcorn showers.
Areas along the coast and the basin and along the coast are usually favored to see these showers, but really anyone in south Louisiana should just keep an eye on the radar to avoid a soaking.
Temperatures will continue to climb through the week, so look for some hot conditions by the weekend.
