Hearing in Lafayette beating death moved to April

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A hearing for two suspects in the October 2010 death of a Louisiana-Lafayette student at an off-campus home has been continued to late April.

The Advertiser report an Trahan and Wayland Guillory, who have both pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder, are now scheduled to appear in a Lafayette court on April 26.

Trahan and Guillory are charged in the beating death of 20-year-old Kenneth Donnelly Jr. and attacking Donnelly's roommate, Rufus Fells.

Trahan's attorney, Thomas Guilbeau, has filed a motion to suppress evidence, claiming police coerced his client into making false statements during the interrogation process. He said he believes the prosecution's case is falling apart.
