Interstate 10 is still closed eastbound near mile marker 90 between Rayne and Duson following an early morning 18-wheeler accident. The crash resulted in the spill of a small amount of a hazardous chemical called Ethyleneamine that could cause respiratory problems if inhaled. Drivers should detour by taking exit 87 onto Hwy 35 to Hwy 90 and then rejoin I-10 at Duson. Hazmat crews have been on scene all day and hope to reopen the roadway by 8:00 tonight.
