Hazardous Material Spill Closes Highway and Kills Driver

UPDATE: The 18 wheeler was traveling South on HWY 91 when a pickup pulled out in front of the 18 wheeler. When the two trucks contacted the 18 wheeler lost control, swerved, and ended up on it's side killing the driver. The road has been blocked for a half mile. No evacuations were necessary due to no houses in the proximity. The crash is still under investigation.

Louisiana State Police have just arrived on the scene of a fatal accident involving an overturned 18 wheeler tanker. The tanker was carrying hazardous material causing Hwy 91 to close near Huntsman Dr. Between Eunice and Iota.
