Families across Acadiana will come together to celebrate Independence Day and there's no need for the family to drive far to find an event near you.


Erath 4th of July Celebration

The annual event in Erath has something for everyone with a fun run, water fights, parade, fireworks, a carnival and much more. Click here for a list of events.



Independence Day Celebration in Sugar Mill Pond

Sugar Mill Pond will hold their annual Independence Day Celebration July 3rd from 5:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on July 3rd. Free entertainment including: face painting; pony rides; live music; hot air balloon rides and a fireworks show at 9 p.m. For more information go to or call 337-856-2323



Jennings Annual Stars & Stripes Celebration

Jennings Annual Stars & Stripes Celebration Thursday, July 3, at La Oil & Gas Park on Interstate 10 Exit #64 & Hwy 26. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. Admission: Adults (13 & older) $3.00. Kids (12 & younger) Free. Great Food, crafts, live music, fun jumps, waterslides & more for kids 12 and younger.Kids bring your bathing suit & towel...Parents bring the lawn chairs. No ice chests.

New Iberia Fourth of July Parade

Broussard Fireworks and Hot Dog Eating Competition 

Second Annual Royal Hotdog Eating Competition at Home Depot in Broussard July 4th. Competition begins at 7:30 p.m. followed by a free firework show. All proceeds benefit the Miles Perret center.

Fireworks can be viewed from Home Depot and Wal-Mart parking lots on St. Nizarre.

Our Saviors Church 4th of July Celebration

Are you ready for our annual July 4th family event? This year will be better than ever. Bring all your tailgating gear, your family and friends, your appetite for amazing food trucks, and get ready to enjoy the field games, water slides, fun jumps, and fireworks! The event will be on July 4th from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Our Savior's Church Lafayette Campus, but you can get there as early at 2:00 pm to set up your tailgating area. Fourth of July Fireworks Show in Eunice

Hosted by the City of Eunice, this year's display will be held 4th of July at 9 p.m.. For almost 30 years, the former Mayor and licensed pyrotechnic, Kenneth Peart, orchestrates a 30 minute spectacular display of fireworks. Bring the entire family out to enjoy the show. Parking available at the Eunice Recreation Complex, in Eunice.

Fireworks on the River in Krotz Springs

"Fireworks on the River," our annual Independence Day Celebration will be held July 4th at Nall Park. Everyone is invited. Please come out with your family, bring your lawn chairs and plan to spend the evening in a family atmosphere. Prior to the fireworks, we will enjoy the music of J.C. Melancon Band. The entertainment will begin around 6:30pm. There will be two fun jumps for the kids to play. Cokes, hot dogs, and watermelon will be served. Ice chests are permitted, but no bottles please. We will cap off the evening with a great fireworks display complete with patriotic music at dusk (usually around 9pm). The Fire Department and its volunteers will supervise the fireworks display, as always. Hope to see you and your family there as we gather to celebrate our Nation's 237th Birthday.

'Red, White and Tuna'

Shane Guilbeau and Kyle Bourque are bringing the much anticipated third installment in the Tuna trilogy to Cite Des Arts this summer. "Red, White and Tuna" takes the audience through another satirical ride into the hearts and minds of the polyester-clad citizens of Texas' third smallest town.

Along with Tuna's perennial favorites, some new Tuna denizens burst into the 4th of July Tuna High School Class Reunion. This sets the stage for a show full of fireworks and fun from the land where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies.



The Patriot Tour 2014

The Patriot Tour is a traveling US Flag from Memorial Day to Labor Day covering over 14,000 miles and 48 states to honor past, present and fallen armed forces personnel. The flag is transported and escorted from city to city by motorcycle enthusiast to raise awareness of the cause - financially supporting families of wounded warriors.

The flag will arrive at 11:30 a.m. at Cajun Harley-Davidson in Scott for the ceremony followed by a plate lunch for a minimum donations of $5, T-shirts will also be available for a donation of $20. The flag will depart at 3 p.m.



Rock the 5th in Morgan City

Morgan City's Independence Day Celebration will be held from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at Lawrence Park & the Riverfront in Downtown Morgan City.

4 to 5:30 p.m. -- Hal Bruni Band

5:30 to 8:30 p.m. -- Band Camp

9 p.m. - - Fireworks over the Atchafalaya River

Enjoy Little Big Town, Tyler Bryant, fireworks, food on Fourth


If you're looking for great music, tasty treats and spectacular fireworks, look no further than Fort Polk. The Country Music Association's Vocal Group of the Year, Little Big Town, will headline FreedomFest July 4 at 5 p.m. at Headquarters Field. Nearly 15 vendors are traveling to Fort Polk from across the Southeast for FreedomFest 2014. There will be five inflatables that will be set up to entertain children of all ages. More than 15 Family Readiness Groups will set up games, dunking booths, face painting and even hair painting stations to raise money for their organizations. 

Special guest Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown will start the music at 6 p.m., followed by a 50-gun salute to the nation. At 8:15 p.m., as the sun starts to set, Little Big Town will take the stage and shake things up a little. At 9:45 p.m., the sky will light up with a fireworks display in West Central Louisiana, provided by the Fort Polk Quality Recycling Program.

Things to know about FreedomFest:

• FreedomFest is free and open to the public.

• La. Hwy 467, both south and northbound from Corps Road to Third Street, will be closed at midnight July 1. The Department of Emergency Services will have detours in place.

• There is no on-site parking at the event. There will be limited handicap parking available at the event but it will not open until 5 p.m.

• Corps Road will be closed all day July 4 to through traffic. Only those with access passes will be allowed to travel on Corps Road.

• Patrons that do not have a Department of Defense ID card will have to park at Honor Field and ride the shuttle bus to the event. For those patrons that have a DoD ID card, you may park at the following locations: Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, Berry Battle Combat Training Center, Library and Education Center and the Main Post Exchange and Commissary. Shuttle buses will run from these locations to the event. Shuttles will begin at 4:30 p.m. and run continuously throughout the event.

Do not bring the following items: Pets, weapons, coolers, tents, alcohol, glass bottles, personal fireworks, professional cameras or video cameras, large signs or banners.

Seating is not provided so make sure you remember your blankets and chairs. The is no ATM on site so have plenty of cash on hand.
