Halloween celebration at Vermilionville

Vermilionville Living History Museum & Folklife Park invites the public to celebrate Halloween at the village with Boo Bayou, a Fall Carnival for the whole family being held on Saturday, October 27 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. There will be plenty to keep the kids busy including games, costume contest, trick-or-treating throughout the historic village and entertainment provided by Louisiana Performance Center & Renaissance Cadienne. See below for a full list of activities.

10:00 am - 12:00 p.m. Games
Toss Across, Ladder Ball, Tin Can Knock' Um Down, Trundle & Hoop, Bobbing for Apples with Clothespins, Pumpkin Bowling, Face Painting, Fishing for Pumpkins, Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin, Gourd Toss, Candy Corn Count, Bobbing Boats, the Duck & the Straw, Cookie Decorating, Coloring Station, and Trick-or-Treat Bag Making.

12:00 - 12:30 pm Costume Contest
Do you think your child's costume has what it takes to win the contest?
Just select which category you want to compete in.

0 to 3 years
3 to 6 years
7 and up
Most original, scariest or funniest

Each category will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner decided by student judges.

12:30 - 2 p.m. Picture Station
We provide the backdrop, you provide the camera! Take your child's picture on a Vermilionville styled Halloween backdrop and bring home this keepsake from Boo Bayou.

12:30 - 2 p.m. Trick or Treating
Your kids will love trick or treating throughout Vermilionville's historic village and visit with our artisans that will be waiting to trick or treat at the Maison des Cultures, Boat Shed, Beau Bassin, Schoolhouse, Mouton House, Buller, Chapel, Boucvalt and the Broussard Kitchen
