Showers and storms ahead of a vigorous cool front Monday evening will be capable of producing hail and possibly damaging winds as they roll southeastward across Acadiana.
The Storm Prediction Center issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entire area from 530pm through 100am Tuesday which includes all of Southeast Louisiana and New Orleans. The storm threat should diminish significantly before midnight in Acadiana.
Much cooler conditions and sunny skies will return to the area with highs closer to the upper 60s to lower 70s while lows drop into the 40s.
Warmer temperatures and the chance of showers and storms will return to the area Sunday/Monday.
