Habitat for Humanity and Lowe's team up for National Women Build Week

Lafayette's Habitat for Humanity is celebrating National Women Build Week.

This week is all about the ladies. Volunteers will join women across the U.S to build affordable housing in their communities, all part of an initiative to help families overcome poverty.

Today women volunteers representing "The Build Generation" will raise their hammers and used their construction skills to make nice homes for Acadiana families. Starting today Lafayette participants will be working on two homes in the Mccomb Veazey Neighborhood.

Over the next two years, Lafayette will build at least 24 new homes, addressing the housing needs in Acadiana neighborhoods.
