LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A 12-person jury convicted a Lake Charles man of two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder in state district court.
The American Press reports the jury deliberated for nearly an hour Thursday before finding 54-year-old Mark Wayne Thibodeaux guilty as charged.
Authorities said he stabbed to death his girlfriend, 25-year-old Carla Yvette Ledoux, and 50-year-old Bridget Tillman Pryor on Jan. 3, 2012. He also tried to stab to death Joseph Newman, who testified against him Wednesday.
Newman said Thibodeaux and Ledoux got into a fight at Pryor's house; Thibodeaux stabbed Ledoux, then Pryor and then Newman.
Thibodeaux faces two mandatory life terms when Judge Richard Wilson sentences him March 12.
