A Gueydan police officer is free on bond after being arrested on malfeasance in office charges.
The Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office confirms that it arrested 29-year-old Kendal Paul Primeaux on Thursday. He was also booked on 40 counts of unauthorized use of a credit or debit card.
According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, Primeaux is accused of using the Gueydan Police Department fuel card for his personal vehicle, with charges totaling $1,954.66.
Gueydan Police Chief Kayla Henry said Primeaux was a patrolman and resigned amid the investigation. He later turned himself in to authorities.
Primeaux is free on $15,000 bond.
