We are working close with our local office of emergency preparedness and Mayor Hensgen of Gueydan to provide resources to assist the residents with immediate needs.
According to Mayor Hensgen, the nursing home located at 1201 3rd st has been designated a temporary shelter for displaced residents that have no place to go. Residents needing to inquire about shelter needs to call the Office of Emergency Preparedness at 337 898 4308.
The Sheriff's Mobile Command Center has been deployed to La. 91 and La. 14 to serve as an incident command center . We are limiting access to the affected areas to property owners, residents and family members only, due to concerns of possible hazards.
