GRAMBLING, La. (AP) - Grambling State University is holding an art exhibit by art and engineering student Naja Simeon. The show, called "Peaceful Aggression," opened Tuesday and continues through April 17 in the Favrot Student Union.

A news release says the paintings include landscapes and more complex paintings about humanity's effect on the environment.

A webpage showcasing some of Simeon's art includes at least two interpretations of the ancient myth of a snake eating its tail. On that page, he states, "we are a people devouring ourselves in order to stay alive."

A reception for the artist is scheduled Thursday afternoon in the student union.
