Group, Hospital Offer Free Health Screenings

A local civic organization and hospital will be conducting a free health fair in two weeks. The 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center will host the free screening event and blood drive on Saturday, August 25 at the Pride Plaza Medical Center at the corner of Pierce and Willow Streets in Lafayette. Doctors and health care experts will conduct blood pressure checks, stroke risk assessments, and perform diabetes and cholesterol screenings. In addition, they will also body mass index, bone density, and prostate cancer exams will be offered. The event is free and open to the public.
